Our wonderful hosts will make you feel at home and provide some background history regarding the chateau's renovation and fascinating past.
Day 2 Friday
After breakfast, locate your Chatelaine as she resides somewhere within the Chateau. This will be the first of many tableaux you will be able to document and as the weekend progresses a narrative unfolds marrying cloth, figure and location.
Each day will have two approx 3 hour drawing sessions located within the house and grounds with mid way breaks and lunch provided.
Friday evening is a chance to visit a local restaurant, you will be transported both ways and on your return relax in the salons within the Chateau, take a swim or just sit in mindful practice in this peaceful location.
Day 3 Saturday
After breakfast the novella unfolds further but after a shorter morning session you are free to document and handle the costumes at closer inspection and document them as part of your independent study for the rest of the day.
Alternatively, after lunch an excursion to neighbouring beaches and countryside, or a local museum gives you an insight into the region. We return for dinner at the Chateau.
Day 4 Sunday
Day 4 sees our Chatelaine shift through states of emotion, attire and location during your morning drawing session. There will be a break for lunch of local french food and wine and time to chat and share your experiences. You are free half day to either work independently or relax.
As the day folds the Chateau is transformed for a dusk draw, lanterns lighting your way through the forest to the lake for the final act and finale..
Day 5 Monday
Goodbye breakfast and an opportunity to reflect on your work and share your experiences before you say goodbye to Montvason and leave for the ferry/station from Cherbourg.
This is a sample itineraray and may be subject to small changes due to weather or possibility of side trips.
